Robert Lynn Horne Merit Badge College


The Robert Lynn Horne (RLH) Merit Badge College @ the World Scouting Museum offers a unique opportunity to complete Scout BSA Merit Badges, visit a WORLD CLASS MUSEUM, and meet with a Merit Badge Counselor and Scouting Historian at a scheduled time. Worksheets available at the bottom of the page.

–Merit Badge Classes can be for one Scout, Troop, Crew, or Ship. Each Merit Badge is $5 (This covers materials and Museum costs.)
–Guardians must also attend to provide TWO DEEP Leadership and must purchase an admission ticket. (Only 1 guardian admission required per visit)
–Guardian Admission is charged at $5 for Merit Badge Classes (Maximum Charge)
Merit Badge Colleges for large groups of Scouts will be held periodically on Saturdays throughout the year. We plan to host 3-4 of these a year and hope to offer different Merit Badges each time. If you are interested in volunteering as a Merit Badge Counselor for these events, please contact us.***

MERIT BADGE INFORMATION:
We request that you complete the worksheets for these merit badges before you arrive at the Museum.
Our Merit Badge Counselors will complete the Blue Cards or update Scoutbook online as needed for the Merit Badges to be turned in to the unit leader upon completion of the requirements.
Some requirements cannot be completed at the museum on the day of your visit.
Please have the Scouts review the requirements before your trip and complete as many on their own as possible.

Group rates for admission of $5.00 will be given to Scouts who attend a Merit Badge College Session. Scouts and Guardians must pay a $5 Admission fee per person for a Merit Badge College Session. Scouts must pay an additional $5 per Merit Badge they wish to earn during their time at the Museum. (2 Merit Badges= $10, 3=$15)

We accept CASH at the door but cannot accept Credit or Debit at this time via any other methods.
Please call (681) 215-4450 to confirm your appointment with the Museum Curator if you plan to pay CASH and to inform how many Scouts and which Merit Badges you want to work on when you visit.
Is your Pack, Troop, Crew, or Ship interested in FREE Admission to the World Scouting Museum or FREE Merit Badge Courses? Complete a Service Project with the World Scouting Museum as an individual or group and earn FREE Admission or a FREE Merit Badge Course. All Service Projects must be scheduled with the Museum Curator prior to your trip to the World Scouting Museum, who distributes one free certificate per participant of the individual or group choice of either FREE Admission OR a FREE Merit Badge Course (must choose one) to all Service Project Participants. Projects must be small to medium-sized in scope. Examples include: cleaning the parking lot of debris and foliage, building new displays, donating materials to the Museum, cleaning of patron areas, donating items to the collection for display, painting or similar maintenance work, snow removal, and volunteering at the Museum for at least 3 hours is requested (but minimum of 2 hours is acceptable).
