Exhibit Spotlight: A Century of Values RV

The World Scouting Museum is thrilled to announce the donation of the “A Century of Values” (ACOV) Recreation Vehicle (RV) by the Non-Profit Organization A Century of Values based in Michigan, USA. This substantial donation of a 32-foot Coachmen, Type C, Freelander RV will help extend the programming of the World Scouting Museum by enabling us to outfit it as a Mobile Museum Unit, utilize it for marketing purposes, and establish pop-up museums throughout West Virginia.

The ACOV RV is outfitted with a custom Scouting-themed wrap that includes Scouting America’s Scout Oath and Scout Law, Scout Handbooks, and a custom Scouting Mural created by Comic Book Artist and Bongo Comics Co-Founder Bill Morrison, an Eagle Scout. (Bill Morrison’s work includes movie posters for WALT DISNEY PICTURES, comic book work for THE SIMPSONS, CREATIVE DIRECTOR AND CO-FOUNDER OF BONGO COMICS, character designer for FUTURAMA and ART DIRECTOR, and character designer for THE NETFLIX SHOW DISENCHANTMENT. Bill also served as EXECUTIVE EDITOR OF MAD MAGAZINE.)

The ACOV RV began its original journey on February 7, 2009, on an adventure called “A Century of Values”  to commemorate and celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America (now Scouting America). The ACOV RV traveled 49,000 miles throughout the United States during the trip, concluding on February 8, 2010. Donated by All American Homes/Coachmen and driven by 16 road teams of adult volunteer Scouters from Southeast Michigan. The ACOV also logged an additional 8,000 miles in “Victory Laps” around Michigan and other Boy Scout councils outside the state, and participated in parades, camporees, and special events.

The World Scouting Museum will be receiving the ACOV RV in early October 2025, with the projected date of October 6.

The World Scouting Museum needs your help to fully utilize the ACOV RV!

Here at the World Scouting Museum, we are thrilled to receive this amazing donation! We want to provide a good home for the ACOV RV, and want to ensure we can keep it in good condition, under watch 24/7 with new security cameras, pay for insurance and gas costs for programming, and provide a vehicle canopy for it to sit underneath to protect it. This will require money that the museum has not budgeted or has not set aside for these costs. We are asking for donations to help us prepare and keep the ACOV RV in great condition, our goal is $20,000 and it may seem like a lot, but that is a budget of $4,000 for the next 5 years. We would really appreciate your help in reaching this goal. To donate, please view below or visit this LINK.
